Lovely

November 22nd, 2008

Working at TEAR can be a real privilege. These past few weeks I have heard some wonderful stories.

  • A successful organic farmer co-op in India, that had gotten to the point were the women it felt happy to challenge the people who funded the project.
  • A guy shaving of his dreads at school to raise money for TEAR
  • The World Evangelical Alliance putting out what looks like a really good HIV/AIDS response. Including this opening.
“While we have not always acknowledged it, we recognise today that the Body of Christ, His Church, is living with HIV. With brokenness we admit that as Evangelical Christians we have allowed stigmatisation and discrimination to characterise our relationships with people living with HIV. We repent of these sinful attitudes and commit to ensuring that they are changed. We will follow Jesus’ example and identify with those who are affected (Matthew 9:12-13) as we intercede fervently for one another (Romans 8:26).”

  • I stumbled on a Youtube video by a young TEAR supporter asking people to buy Useful Gifts.
