Simpsons

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Going to see The Simpsons tonight. Not sure what to expect, it will be nice to go back into the old familiar surrounds of Springfield for 90minutes though.

The following TV shows need a new film or an extra season:

Cities of Gold (Release an English version of the DVD at least someone).

Firefly Cut tragically short. What a fine series. I know one movie has been made but I want more.

Angel the end of Angel left me hanging a bit.

Buffy I’d love to see a world full of slayers and what that means. Alternatively I’d like to see a Buffy movie that was not ruined by one of the actors getting a big head.

Blood Diamonds

Friday, May 18th, 2007

Watch Blood Diamond tonight. Great film. It deals with so many issues, so well. The concept of TIA (This Is Africa) as a used by whites of accepting the unacceptable, the use of child soldiers and of course conflict diamonds are all dealt with well. The end of it made me cry a bit, it really does have good story telling.

I want to help this world be less crap.
I pray that I will never become apathetic to the suffering in this world.

Lion the witch and the wardrobe

Saturday, April 29th, 2006

I brought the DVD of the Lion the witch and the wardrobe the other day. I watched it tonight.
I really enjoyed my second watching. The DVD has lots of little treats on it too.
Looking forward to getting into the special features soon.

In other news the gas for our gas burners arrived tonight so we were able to cook up some dinner for the first time. We did however call up Nirulas and get them to deliver some ice cream. Oh and we had mangos with our ice cream.. I like mangos and at just over $1/kg not bad value.

Also went and saw the pink panther today lots of fun.

For Aslan and for Narnia

The Lion The Witch and te Wadrobe was tops. So well done. I loved it all.

Joyeux Noel

Thursday, December 22nd, 2005

I went and so Joyeux Noel last night with Sam.

It is one of the best films I have ever seen. I think it is better then Life Is Beautiful. It tells the story of a cease fire on the front lines of World War I, in English, French and German. It’s one of those films that restores your faith in humanity. It showed the break down of hostilaties as the troops joined by music began to see that the enemy was just like them. The Scotish have their bagpipes, the Germans their singing and the French their wine.

The films tag line is Without an enemy there can be no war. So true.

I am thinking that I might make a tradition of watching this film every Christmas. It shows the real value of Christmas.

Anyway go out and see it!

Killing Fields

Friday, April 8th, 2005

Just finished watching Killing Fields. Pol Pott sucks, so did America’s bombing of Cambodia. In fact I think the world pretty much sucks, it hasn’t really gotten any better. Just different :-(. A good movie though.

Don’t see Alexander

Saturday, January 22nd, 2005

Seriously people stay clear. The only reason to even consider watching it is if you get a kick out of seeing guys in short skirts. But honestly watch something else for that. It’s just far too long and boring. 3 hours of my life gone.
