Delhi with the Bevis

Thursday, February 8th, 2007

I spent most of today hanging out with Steve. We ended up going clothes shopping, hanging out in cafes, buying books, and minding children.

It was all good fun.
We ended up having dosa for dinner, which makes Steve a life long member of Dosa club.

Today’s special dosa at Sagar South Indian was the Mangalore Dosa, and it was very very good.

Work Work Work

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

I’ve been spending the last few days rolling out a new network at the EHA Offices in Delhi. I added a file/print server to the network on Thursday, did some more configuration on Friday, and linked the new 7th floor office with the 8th floor.

Whilst an electrician did the cable run for me I still had to put the connectors on the cables. Crimping the RJ45 connector onto the CAT6 cable was very painful and slow. I really suck at doing it, took me 20 minutes to do my first connector. I got a bit quicker by the time I was finished. Still it is my least favorite networking task. Brought me flashbacks of the 2004 workshop I ran at Duncan Hospital last time I was in India. Anyway got the networking all done, and everything seems to work.

Oh and I had an Onion Masala Dosa yesterday, that was interesting and in the evening I went out and had Mexican with Wes. Which was surprisingly good. It’s great being in Delhi food wise, though not as good as Sydney.

I have a meeting tonight which I would normally not do on a Sunday but seeing as how I am heading off so soon, I decided it was OK. It’s something about tele-medicine.

Dosa Cancelled

Monday, December 5th, 2005

There shall be no dosa club tonight as I am in morning. Today is not a good day to be going to India next year. All the excitement about U2 would be far to much for me to cope with. Does anyone who didn’t get tickets want to go binge drinking with me tonight?

Actually that’s a lie. It just didn’t seem like many people would be able to come and I may as well have a week off. This is only the second Monday I’ve cancelled Dosa Club since it’s inception I believe.

We will be back next week though I assure you and don’t forget the 19th, our special Christmas Dosa Event.

Dosa

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

Is anyone going to come to Dosa this Monday night?

I am happy to go if anyone actually is keen.

See Sam is going to be studying and I don’t want to turn up and eat by myself. I don’t mind doing that sometimes but I only do that in more anonymous places.

Funny

Wednesday, October 19th, 2005

A while ago I put dosa making into a job description for myself. Now someone I am working with in India has been making some other job descriptions for different jobs. This person put dosa making into the qualifications section of the job description. How cool is that.
