KL
January 6th, 2010
In KL this morning, fly out to Kochi in a few hours. Looking forward to getting back there.
Airasia were no worse then most of the airlines I’ve flown with. However having to buy bottled water makes you think twice about hydration which isn’t great.
KL feels quite familiar, it helps to be staying in a hotel I’ve stayed in before. Had a nice buffet breakfast this morning.
Now to try and get my global roaming working. Ah just looked at Optus’ website, apparently I had to call a number before I left. Hmmm.
I flew in from KL by AA on Monday; like I did a couple of other times during Nov – Dec.
1. For free water – in LCCT there is a water fountain on the way to the Loos; beside the big duty free which sells liquor/chocolates. This is after the security check, so no one will forbid you to collect some water in your own bottle.
2. If you pre-order a meal – you get free water with it; albeit about 120 ml or so. I guess you get it free even if you buy your meal on the spot.
3. My choice was to buy bottled water from the plane itself.
In any case I found Air Asia as a value for money proposition (if you can afford the transit time) to fly to Singapore (via KL) than Silk Air which will of course give you free water (and orange juice) and charge you almost 3 times the fare of AA.
