Covenant Woman

Thursday, January 10th, 2008
Covenant woman got a contract with the Lord
Way up yonder, great will be her reward.
Covenant woman, shining like a morning star,
I know I can trust you to stay where you are.

And I just got to tell you
I do intend
To stay closer than any friend.
I just got to thank you
Once again
For making your prayers known
Unto heaven for me
And to you, always, so grateful
I will forever be.

I’ve been broken, shattered like an empty cup.
I’m just waiting on the Lord to rebuild and fill me up
And I know He will do it ’cause He’s faithful and He’s true,
He must have loved me so much to send me someone as fine as you.

And I just got to tell you
I do intend
To stay closer than any friend.
I just got to thank you
Once again
For making your prayers known
Unto heaven for me
And to you, always, so grateful
I will forever be.

Covenant woman, intimate little girl
Who knows those most secret things of me that are hidden from the world.
You know we are strangers in a land we’re passing through.
I’ll always be right by your side, I’ve got a covenant too.

And I just got to tell you
I do intend
To stay closer than any friend.
I just got to thank you
Once again
For making your prayers known
Unto heaven for me
And to you, always, so grateful
I will forever be.

Spiritual Disconnect

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

I’ve realised, well actually I’ve known for a while that I’ve gotten a bit spiritually disconnected. It’s not that my beliefs have gone, or my attitudes have changed, I’ve just gotten incredibly spiritually lazy. With not having a regular church at the moment, or an established organised kind of dailyish devotions I think I can pin point the things that need improvement.

I do miss the spiritual simplicity of living overseas working in development with Christian organisations. Maybe I should just disappear overseas for a month and a bit…

Late night central coast trains

Monday, January 7th, 2008

Was hanging out in Enmore a bit late tonight with the gang. Anyway I ended up on the 12.15am train from central where I made some fun friends. There was one girl Kelly in particular who I chatted to, and her group of friends. Sadly her friends were quite verbally abusive to her and each other which I didn’t enjoy. Anyway they were all a bit of fun.

On the train trip an old guy came along and tried to evangelise us. Sadly he was of the clearly mentally unstable apocalypse because of the evil Russian’s and nuclear weapons and such. It was all quite bad and I tried to get reasonable but just got annoyed. He ended up telling people they were going to hell. Apparently I am too. I tried to stand up for my own idea of God and talked to them after a bit. Not sure if I did a good job or not.

I did though get invited back to the Central Coast, but for some reason I declined.

I Am Legend

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Having seen the film my mind is coming up with all kinds of cool anti-vamp defensive ideas.

My favourite one is UV LEDs encased in a plastic embedded in the floor, and walls. I just checked and you can buy UV LEDs off the Internet today.

Friend, Lecture, Ticket

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Today I met a friend of mine from an Adult Education subject I did as an elective at university. She’s a pretty inspiring women, she was diagnosed with MS a couple of years ago but is now busy doing life. She does great caring work and has the most lovely attitude. I was thankful to the West Wing for educating me on MS so I had some ideas about it.

Whilst we were having coffee the lecture who she was meant to be meeting for coffee later on in the day joined us. The lecture was a nice but blunt woman. The three of us had some good conversation.

After my coffees I went to STA broadway to pick up my tickets to Uganda. Looking at my tickets now I have seen that my Sydney< ->Europe ticket has 20KG luggage, and the Europe< ->Africa leg has 30KG luggage. I’m feeling like I need to take advantage of that extra 10kg of luggage. I wonder if I can buy souvenirs of Australia in London..
