My wall

October 5th, 2007

My wall, originally uploaded by onegeek.

So I had enough of my room being all dull and messy. So I decided to clean and decorate a little. I’m glad I didn’t give away all my Indian art now.

From “If I were rain”

October 3rd, 2007

May no one be compelled to
hold out their hands in need.
May I have money enough
that I never have to refuse
anyone anything.

May I become so extraordinarily
famous that everyone in the
whole world knows who I am,
and never forgets me.

Sorry African Refugees

October 3rd, 2007

Kevin Andrews tells us that our Africian refugee quota is all used up. No more refugees from the region until June next year. Sounds to me like we should be offering more places, if they fill up in 3 or 4 months.

Becoming

October 2nd, 2007

I really think it’s time I stop procrastinating and distracting myself from doing the things I need to be doing, and instead becoming the person I want to be. Not sure exactly what this means on a more practical note, but I think it probably includes less excuses for being mean and not working harder on important issues and work.

Happy Birthday Mahatma Ghandhi

October 2nd, 2007

I was wondering why none of the people I know from India have been online today. Turns out is Gandhi’s Birthday today. So I’d like to wish a happy birthday to Ghandhi. May this birthday help remind the world of the importance and power of non-violence and peace. I wish he was still alive, because if he were I am sure the Burmese monks would be better supported by India and the world.

Delayed

October 1st, 2007

Well looks like I’m not going to be going to Nagaland now for a few more weeks. The board has set the date for the opening of CIHSR to after I was due to leave, and so now I am looking at moving my flights around a bit. On the plus side this makes me more hopeful that I will get to see the opening.

Blackstump

October 1st, 2007

Went to Blackstump with Mil just for Saturday and Sunday. It was good, quite different from other times I’ve been. I didn’t really hear much music or talks but I spent a lot of my time having chats to different people. I had some very interesting chats with Urban Seed related people.
