There’s no place like home
It is ever so good to be home.
Well now I am waiting at Singapore airport for my flight this morning back home. I am rather tired as I didn’t get much sleep last night. The flight should be nice and dreadful as it’s a qantas flight and I am in a middle seat unless it’s the nice version of the 747 (747-400GE), which it may well be. Hope it is.
None of that actually bothers me that much as I will soon be home
It’s been a good holiday here with Sam. Didn’t end up having the kind of reflective time that I wanted but that’s alright. Just need to make sure I make some time to write when I get back home.
Well after a long but fun train journey I have finally made it to Singapore. Tonight we went to Secret Recipie for dinner and then had a swim at the hotel pool, then we went out shopping. Orchard Road where we are staying is all closed for a Chinese New Year parade. Now just hanging out in an internet cafe, as the free wireless doesn’t work and I am over paying far too much for hotel broadband.
I am finding that coming home is starting to feel quite real which is strange after all this time. My feelings about coming home very a bit between being really excited and happy, to being a bit sad and apprehensive. I think part of it is working out how I fit back in after this year away. I don’t want to go back to who I was and where I was. I want to use my learning to start myself in a better place as a better person.
I have stories I need to tell that I have not been able to be blogged and I want to tell them right. I am worried about being aragoant on my return and with the telling of the stories. It is so easy to take some kind of moral high ground that I have no write to.
I am scared of falling into easy living, but I am sure my friends and God won’t let me do that.
I am really looking forward to catching up with all my friends, and having some hugs. It’s strange I have really missed good hugs while I’ve been in India. So little physical contact with others.
Sam is looking a bit bored now so it might be time for me to leave.
Sam and I are about to hop on a train to Singapore. How fun is that??
Sure it won’t be anything like my Indian train adventures, but that’s ok.
Only three more sleeps until I come home!!
I have been enjoying my holiday in Malaysia with Sam but I am feeling ready to come home. Tomorrow we catch the train to Singapore which should be rather pleasant, 6 hours of doing absolutely nothing.
Well today we are back in Penang, and are off for some hopefully fun adventures. We are going to take a look at Georgetown and Penang Hills railway. Should be fun.
It’s now just over 5 days until I am home, and I am rather excited, though I must remember to contain that excitement as Sam will get annoyed. Besides I am having a good time here as some photos I will soon post will show.
Today me and Sam are leaving Lankawi. We hired a car today for under $30 with fuel. So many beautiful beaches here.. Will post more soon..
Sitting in a Starbucks in Langkawi waiting to get some lunc. There are like seriously no taxis near the port here.
Penang is fun. On the flight we even got an emergancy exit row. It was so easy, their was no allocated seating and no one else seemed to want them.. Very strange, must be a height thing. Anyway all good fun. Penang is beautiful, I am very much looking forward to seeing how beautiful Langkawhi is tomorrow. It’s a two and half hour hour which should also be pretty.
Anyway, back to fun.
Just about to board my flight on Air Asia to Penang. The LCC terminal is so fantastically low cost it is awesome.
Anyway Sam and me are spending a few days in Penang and hopefully Langkawhi. Been having fun here.
8 Days until I am home. For some reason Sam doesn’t appreciate my countdown. Can’t imagine why…
I did manage to met up with Sam, actually we met about 1 hour early by just hanging out near our cinema meeting place. We went and saw Ghost Rider which was a good film to see half asleep as it was not the best of films. We then walked around KLCC After that we came back to the hotel and then just hung out here at the hotel. Sadly the internet was done for a few hours.
Today was fun we went on the Monorail to somewhere and then decided there was nothing to do and caught the monorail one stop past our hotel. We explored Time Square, inside we found 12 floors of shopping centre madness.

Westfield eat your heart out. The malls here are just so insanely huge. They even have different names for different sections. We went to a theme park inside the Times Square, it was pretty fun.

This afternoon we planned out gTonight we went to an Irish pub for dinner which was quite fun but a bit too expensive. Tomorrow we are off on a day trip with some taxi driver Sam meet. I have no idea what/where we are going but I hope it is fun.
Well here I am now in KL. I have checked into my hotel and am now waiting for a few hours before I go and meet Sam at the cinema. I am having lots of fun already. However all flights out of Delhi suck.
Well I’m all packed up and just waiting for my taxi. Feeling pretty tired.
Oh well holiday time!!!
I’ve started packing now. I am only allowing myself to take my original suitcase.
I really enjoy leaving stuff behind, it’s a good cure for material attachment. It is also fun seeing how much what I am taking has changed from what I started with. Hmm…So maybe I am a materialist. Oh well.
