Seriously IT vendors are driving me up the wall. One example of this was a guy quoting me 3,000,000Rs for something which I only really wanted to spend 1,300,000Rs on. Another example this arvo was dealing with a vendor who couldn’t spell my name. She sent an email to tivid@ihill.com. I don’t know why they can’t understand my d’s and a’s. This was after she couldn’t tell me her email address in a clear manner.
So I set up a new email address for my vendors which is IT at my organisations domain. If people can’t work out that one then they don’t get my business.

I am now seriously considering placing a Windows 2003 Server into my infrastructure at work.. It makes me feel dirty.
In the end though it really does come down to terminal services and printing, and to a lesser degree Active Directory.
Then again my thin clients will be running rdesktop from Linux, and everything else apart from admin computers will be Linux based. The Windows will also be quaratined into a VMWare client running under Linux.
I still feel dirty though. I think I might go and have a shower..

I have decided that women should not take their husbands names when they get married. Not out of any feminist ideal but practicality. My friends I know of who are married I always think first of them with their maiden name and then have to think about their married name. I also have some friends who kept their name and that is so much easier.
So I ask you please don’t make me think, keep your maiden name when you marry. And besides, I think Jenny Gower sounds better the Jenny Howie.
Maybe people should just change to have the same middle names?
No one uses them anyway.

I am sensitive to criticism so my blog is now back to a more understated look. I don’t know why some people don’t like pink.

I had some rather special Darjeeling Tea at my local Barista Coffee shop. It was served in a clear glass cup with a clear saucer, and the tea was in a silk tea bag. So cool. And very nice tasting. I have one of my Naga friends from church to thank for recomending it.
