Wise Up

Friday, January 30th, 2004

I think I have decided that it is time to let go, and give up. I am going to try and leave my excess baggage behind. I took on so much shit to get through the hard times, but I don’t need it anymore.

I wonder whether I really will.

Sometimes I wonder why my webstats are so low. Then I look at what I write and then suddenly I understand.

Circular Buffer For Reading One Line At A Time

Friday, January 30th, 2004

Here is the code I just wrote for a circular buffer to read one line at a time.
memset(buffer,’\0′,BUFF_SIZE);
j=0;
for( ; ; ) {
memset( tmp,’\0′, BUFF_SIZE );
GetAccessToFD( SERIAL );
n = read( serialfd, tmp, BUFF_SIZE);
ReleaseFD( SERIAL );

if( n == 0 || errno == EAGAIN ) {
//error in reading of port
//No Data Do nothing.
}
else if(n > 0) {
for (i=0; i<=n; i++)
{
if (tmp[i] == ‘\n’)
{
buffer[j] = ‘\0′; //Null Terminate String.
ProcessSerialCommand(buffer);
memset(buffer,’\0′,BUFF_SIZE);
j=0;
}
else if (tmp[i] != ‘\0′)
{
buffer[j] = tmp[i];
j++;
}
}
}
else {
printf(”Error Reading in ExecuteSerialReceive\n”);
}
}

No Movie

Thursday, January 29th, 2004

I didn’t get to see a move tonight, but that’s alright cause I got to see Mil. Who is now back, from Peru. It is so good to see her again. I went over to her place to say hi. And then we ended up going to Tom’s house. A visit there ended up turning into dinner. Dinner was good, I really enjoy time spent at the French’s house. It was really good just sitting and talking too and then having dinner with John, Jane, Tom, Howie and Mil. It’s always great to hear the questions that other people think to ask. The time of the movie quickly approached and past, and me and Tom didn’t end up going. Which was OK. I didn’t mind not doing what I planned in fact I really enjoyed it.

Afterwoods Tom, Howie and I went to Wollies and we got some ice creams and other food. But Wollies now charge 2.42 for Coke so it was decided that coke should be purchased from the bottle machines. The only problem was the Coke machines at the Wollies carpark weren’t working. We ended up going through Coles to the other end of the Shopping Centers Carpark to get Tom and Howies Coke(I decided not to get one in the end). Then Tom kindly dropped me home.

Really hasn’t been doing it for me lately, even on Wednesdays.

Women

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

Tyler Durden: We’re a generation of men raised by women. I’m wondering if another woman is really the answer we need.

Some times I agree with Tyler. However I don’t think self destruction is a valid answer, maybe God is though.

Good Night

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

Commy was good tonight. I actually felt good for the entire evening. Which is a rare for me.

We had lots of people 12 in all by my count. Helen and Jo came all the way from Belrose. Which was good of them. And there was lots of different simultaneous discusion which meant one could pick which conversation to join.

Futile

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

I am in at Uni at the moment. I went in to lodge a variation of program(VOP) (change of subject). Went to the Engineering Admin people and they said you couldn’t lodge a VOP ’cause the 2004 forms weren’t out yet. They should be out in mid-Feb they said. Now I believe these forms are going to be different by about one character. But no they will not accept them.

They could have put something on the web site saying they weren’t accepting VOP’s but no they couldn’t be bothered. So I took a day of work and travelled all the way into the city to lodge a form they wouldn’t accept. DOGS!!

They also replaced the Sun Solaris lab with a Windows lab. I am not happy. I liked having a convient to access lab that was always empty. Oh well.

Bronte Beach

Monday, January 26th, 2004

I went to Bronte Beach for Jo’s Birthday with Tom, Howie, Ryan and a stack of people without blogs. It was good fun.
Me, Tom, and Howie were very manly. We played frisby socer and handball. Ryan would of been manly if he’d played some handball as well. Breakfast was yummy also, thanks Jo.

I had a dream last night that I saw a murder take place. It was the murder of one a person who wore a life sized Buggs Bunny costume one of those ones people walk around theme parks in. I confronted the guy about and he threatend me. I tried to fight him also but I failed misreably. Don’t know what happend in the end. I was going to talk to the police I think.
