The Quary

Sunday, August 31st, 2003

I went down to the Quary last night to pray. It was really good. I got myself a torch from Coles and walk off to Dural lane. Went down the road to the quary, missed the turn of and ended up at the buildings. Went back up took the right turn and walked down the path to the Quary. Followed the path nearly fell quite a few times. Eventually I found myself a bit of grass in a field to sit down on. I read Isaih 66 and then lay down and watched the clouds and the stars. There was a really funky wind blowing and the clouds were really cool. Anyway I lay down there on the ground praying too God with the odd bit of crying as well. Anyway this went on for a while and then I got to feeling a lot better. At this point I checked my phone and I had a missed calls from Tom and Dad. Called up Tom and he invited me to go to a Triva Night and told me they were leaving in 3 minutes. So I rushed back up and out of the Quary with joy in my heart. And meet up with Tom and co. It was a really good experience and I’d just like to say that God is The Dude.

Yesterday

Saturday, August 30th, 2003

I did my Contemp Europe presentation and handed in my take home essay. I found out a girl I’ve kind of been interested in has a boyfriend. I caught an express to hornsby from the city and then hoped on a train to Turramurra. That was a bit of a waste. I did Turrazone, physical exersion was good but I waasn’t in the proper head space.
I walked from Turramurra to Wahroonga by some very long and hilly backrodes. I then had a chicken burger and chips from Charcol Charlie in Wahroonga. I ate my food in Wahroonga park, on a bench in the dark. I then caught a train to Hornsby and went to Greater Union. I brought myself a ticket to Finding Nemo and watched it by myself. I saw an old friend from school there. We said hello but that was about it. I got a takeaway Cookie gelatoo and walked home. Then at home I watched some Buffy before going to sleep.

Will this post work

Wednesday, August 27th, 2003

I am wondering whether this post will get through. I have had lots of issues with posting lately so we shall see if it worked. I had lunch with Steve today it was really good. We talked a bit about options for me to do development work. It is all sounding good.
Then I went and edited at Tom’s for a while. And then round to community dinner, which was good but I left feeling a bit depressed. I walked home from there.

Over the past 5 days I have walked from.
Home-Hornsby Hornsby-Toms-Home. Friday.
Toms-Home Saturday In the rain.
Home-Hornsby. Turra-Home. Sunday
Home-Hornsby-Home Hornsby-Tom’s-Tom’s to home. Monday.
Home-Hornsby Central-Glebe-Central Homsby-Tom’s-Keith and Stella’s-Home.
I think that’s a decent bit of walking. Even by my own standards.

TUC Is good

Monday, August 25th, 2003

I am really happy with Turra Uniting Church. It is a place where I am challenged, encouraged and feel comfortable. They are quite into mission and spirit stuff but unlike other places I have been it feels real I think. It has got me reconsidering evangalism.
There was a guy my age last night who is a missionary working in Tibet. He asked the congragation would you die for Christ. It was a thought provoking question. He got people to stand up if they were prepared to die for Jesus. Quite a few people did stand up. Not everyone though (not me). Anyway it was good to be forced to think about stuff like that.
